Comparing Prices

With online shopping, you can compare prices from hundreds of different vendors without having to visit a local store, but that can easily become overwhelming. Over the last year or so, a number of online retailers have developed mobile shopping apps that do the heavy lifting for you. These platforms have automated the shopping process by not only providing information but also providing the most up-to-date deals and coupons at the click of a button.

Many shoppers use mobile apps like Shopkick, Coupon Samurai, BestPriceMac, and others to compare prices at multiple retailers and coupons from all major brands, you may even find walmart coupons. While this may sound like good news, many complaints are being made online that these apps do not deliver the service promised in the description and can lead to hiccups, slow downloads, and crashes that you probably don’t want. So, here are our top recommendations for shopping the web with shopping apps.

Shopkick

Shopkick is one of the top tools for online shopping. The website uses a mix of in-app coupons, sweepstakes offers, and other tips to make buying and comparing products as easy as possible. The app itself is fairly complex to use, but it’s fun, and it’s super helpful when shopping with tons of brands. There is also an ongoing app update that updates the database of stores, coupons, etc. as well as some other minor improvements. Shopkick is an easy to use and clean looking app that works well on multiple platforms. The one thing I would say is not as great as some other shopping apps out there is that you do not see a single product at all when browsing through ads or searching. This kind of defeats the purpose of making the app simple and easy to use.

Coupon Samurai

Coupon Samurai is similar to Shopkick in that it is another well-designed and comprehensive app for comparing prices and coupon codes. When shopping with the app, you are prompted to choose a brand and a type of product before you move on. After that, the app gives you coupon codes that can be redeemed at the point of sale for different products on the site. Coupons can be redeemed for many different products including DVDs, books, clothes, accessories, fitness gear, and more. The app does have some lag for some shopping, and I recommend using it with the latest release for the best experience.

BestPriceMac

BestPriceMac is one of the few online tools that really works. It is the easiest and fastest way to compare prices across multiple retailers. BestPriceMac does not offer coupon codes, but you can easily search for deals with “Buy now” coupons. The app is mostly built for online shopping, and it is very feature rich. It comes with multiple categories, search functions, coupon matching, location based coupon, and much more. Overall, BestPriceMac does an amazing job in simplifying online shopping.

Hindenburg App

Hindenburg is a community-driven app that makes shopping easier by bringing local stores together in one location. You can search for deals for your local store and automatically get notified when coupons are available. This app is awesome, but be warned that when you install it, it requires Windows XP or higher. You can also upload coupons, add personal feedback, and set up notifications through the app to use it on any device. I have not been able to get this to work on my Mac however, and there seems to be a bug with it in Windows.
